Good Samaritan Resource Center of Pulaski County is a non-denominational Christian organization, operating the Genesis battered women’s shelter along with community and emergency services for men, women and children.

Good Samaritan strives to reflect Christ's love by meeting the emergency physical needs of individuals in Pulaski County and providing shelter for battered women and their children.

With your help we provide

EMERGENCY FOOD– Emergency food is provided to individuals and families in need as well as government commodities.
• 6,010 families received Commodities in 2011
• 2,233families received Emergency Food in 2011
• 972 families received Thanksgiving and Holiday Food Baskets in 2011

EMERGENCY CLOTHING, FURNITURE AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS – Individuals and families in need are provided emergency clothing free of charge. We also provide free coats to any person(s) in Pulaski County that has a need. Victims of natural disasters, e.g. fire, flood, tornado, etc., are provided household items as part of our “Restart” program.
• 9,921items of Clothing and Household Items were distributed in 2011

ADOPT AN ANGEL PROGRAM - Children living in Pulaski County receive gifts at Christmas.
• 763 needy children in our community received Christmas presents in 2011

ADOPT A PEARL PROGRAM - Senior citizens in Pulaski County receive a special blessing at Christmas.
• 105 senior citizens were adopted during the 2011 Christmas season.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER – Genesis: A Place of New Beginnings provides safe shelter and resources for battered women and children. Genesis maintains a new shelter which comfortably houses 40 to 45 women and children and provides room for individual and group counseling, training, case management and education to prepare survivors for independent and successful living.
• 169 women and children were housed in the Genesis shelter in 2011
• 108 women and children recieved professional therapy from our counselor in 2011
• 201 women and children attended support groups at Genesis in 2011
